Joe-Pye Weed (Eutrochium maculatum)

Joe-Pye Weed is a classic for a reason and when it's in bloom, the garden feels the most alive. Tall, expansive and full of movement, it shows up in midsummer and immediately becomes a focal point, an architectural anchor to the garden bed. The mauve-pink flower clusters are wide and cloud-like, sitting atop sturdy stems, bringing height and softness at the same time. The foliage is dense and green, creating a strong vertical layer that holds the garden together long before flowers appear.

It works great along fence lines as a privacy screen and in low areas that hold moisture.

Wildlife Value
