Blue Grama Grass (Bouteloua gracilis)
Blue Grama is a low-maintenance, warm-season (meaning it actively grows when it's hot out) native grass with its signature eyelash-shaped seed heads that gently sway on slender stems. It brings subtle texture and movement any dry, sunny spots in your garden. Well-adapted to southeastern Wisconsin’s summer heat and drought, it’s a dependable choice for sunny borders or rock gardens.
Growing in clumps about 1–2 feet tall, Blue Grama spreads slowly without overtaking other plants. It supports pollinators and provides seeds that feed songbirds in fall and winter.
